Book
A task manager for Linux and Android. Tasks, notes and people, in contexts like home and work, each showing when it's yours.
- Your tasks are kept on your own devices, and Book keeps them the same on each, with Iceblock.
- Share a context with other people, and see who's doing what.
- Reminders, repeating tasks, subtasks, voice notes and focus on one task at a time.
Add a device to Book
This is an invitation for another of your devices to share your tasks. It works once, for a few minutes.
Open it on the device you're adding, with Book installed there:
Or scan this with the phone you're adding:
In Book, you can also paste the link under Devices, Add a device.
Join a shared context
Someone has invited you to share a context in Book, so you see its tasks, and they see what you do in it.
Book asks before you join.
Send problem reports here
This link is a place to send Book's problem reports, given out by whoever looks at them.
Book asks before it sends anything there. You can also paste the link in Book's Report a problem.
This isn't a Book link
It may have been cut short when it was copied. Ask for it again, and copy all of it.
Links for Iceblock itself open at iceblock.tricauda.com.
Get Book
With Obtainium, which keeps it up to date:
- Install Obtainium.
- In Obtainium, tap Add App, and give it this address:
Set Override source to Forgejo (Codeberg), tap the + beside the address, then Install.
https://git.tricauda.com/book/releases
Or on its own: from the latest release, download book-version-arm64.apk and open it. Your phone may ask you to allow installing apps from your browser.
Ubuntu 24.04 or later, or Debian, with updates, in a terminal:
sudo curl -fsSL https://git.tricauda.com/api/packages/book/debian/repository.key -o /etc/apt/keyrings/book.asc echo "deb [signed-by=/etc/apt/keyrings/book.asc] https://git.tricauda.com/api/packages/book/debian stable main" | sudo tee /etc/apt/sources.list.d/book.list sudo apt update && sudo apt install book
Book is then in your applications. When there's a new version, your updates bring it.
Or the package on its own: from the latest release, download book_version_amd64.deb, and in the folder it's in, run sudo apt install ./book_*_amd64.deb. That doesn't bring updates.
